Convergence, LLC was started by two former electric utility managers to commercialize their innovative design for a highly reliable and durable free-standing fuel cell generator.The founders realized that to fully achieve the well-known benefits of fuel cell application, several challenges had to be overcome to develop a totally stand-alone residential electric power system. Specifically; durability, reliability, and cost.
Other companies targeting the residential fuel cell market have aligned with utilities to build grid connected units in an attempt to mitigate these challenges.
Convergence had other ideas. Their patented approach provides the systems configuration, interaction, and controls that compensate for current technical inadequacies and the unique requirements of electrochemical generating systems -- bridging the gap between the promise and the reality.
